Today I have some exciting news to share about IADES, International Alumnae of the Delta Epsilon Sorority. For the last few months, we have been discussing what our goals are for the future of IADES. It is easy to determine the purpose for the Alpha chapter. Their purpose is to develop leadership skills, share resources, network development, and empowerment. We are trying to figure out how to really support the Alumnae because they are spread out all over the world, so our purpose is different.
Lately, we noticed a pattern with our contributions to the community. For instance, our partnership with NPKZ to give scholarships to mothers who want to go to Gallaudet. That is a wonderful way to support women without requiring them to be a part of our sorority. That is the kind of goal that we want to operate as an organization. We discussed how we can accomplish this goal.
This now becomes the exciting news. IADES has decided to become the first sorority to ever become involved with Deaf Women United (DWU). It is a well-respected organization for deaf women. We are the first sorority affiliate, which means we can be involved with their resource sharing, networks, empowerment, and information. This amazing opportunity means that we are not only limited to empowering our alumnae sisters, but deaf women all over and newly graduated sisters will not only receive the benefits that IADES has to offer, but also DWU's. This is an exciting partnership. IADES wants to share this exciting, historical moment for you to be a part of. We are also looking forward to seeing how we, as an organization, will move forward in the future.
Please refer to our Scholarships page to learn more about our partnership with NPKZ for mothers who want to go to Gallaudet.

Our New
501(c)(3) Status!

Hello all!
I am Sister Alyssa Romano and I am the current vice-president for IADES from now and on. It is really an exciting time to join this council. This council has both young and older sisters, a variety of interests and ideas, but we all have the same level of passion and motivation to give back to IADES. We all are very excited to continue building on the accomplishments the ladies in the past have already made and I'm looking forward to see what accomplishments we will make from now and on. The accomplishments in the past are numerous, but there is one big accomplishment that the past president, Gina D'amore, and her council have made: IADES is now considered as a non-profit organization with 501(c)(3). This is an amazing way to open many doors, unlock more opportunities, and allow IADES to become bigger and give more back to you all. It is truly exciting to see what we, the new council, will do with the non-profit status of IADES.
Looking forward for more!
